Hi! I hope everyone had a great weekend! I spent mine in Chicago, and I’ll be recapping that in tomorrow’s post. For now, unwind before bed with some retail therapy. Several of these things were inspired by what I couldn’t afford to buy while shopping around the past few days. Life is expensive y’all, and so is Italian leather. I’m wrapping up my evening with some tea, as it takes some time to recover from such a great weekend, so I’ll meet y’all back here tomorrow!

My New Fave Animal Print

Click to Shop!

Hi y’all, happy Friday! I’m headed to Chicago later this afternoon to see my best friend from college and spend the weekend sketching around the Windy City! If y’all have any suggestions on places to eat/drink/shop let me know! For now, I’ll leave you with this little trend I’ve been into lately. I love most animal prints (except zebra, say no to zebra), but especially this speckled dalmatian/cheetah print. I’ve not been sure of what to call it, as it’s more abstract than straight-up cheetah, but not quite reminiscent of 101 Dalmatians either. Regardless, being a natural design, it’ll fit in with almost any look, plus, it’s a fun way to add some interest and texture to an outfit. What patterns and prints do you gravitate toward? I hope everyone has a great weekend, I’ll meet you back here on Monday! Until then, follow along on Instagram!

Summer Wedding Wear

Click to Shop!

It’s that time of year again: wedding season. I’ve rounded up my favorite occasion dresses from Shopbop! Maybe it’s the hometown hero in me, but I love Shopbop. They have the greatest selection and for my fellow Madisonians, the free three day shipping basically means free overnight shipping (seriously, so fast). Since the company is owned by Amazon, it’s also available for Prime! I picked a dress for everything from the casual outdoor nuptials, to the swanky black tie soiree! I also tried to select from a wide price range. Are you a Southern Belle with a wedding every weekend this summer? Don’t buy a dress for each (unless you have the ample means, which in that case, take me shopping too!). Many of these dresses can be styled differently, so throw on a different shoe, add a statement necklace, or even just change your hair. Chances are there will be different crowds at each event, so don’t sweat being an outfit repeater. Great dresses like these deserve to be worn, so don’t be afraid to invest in one and keep re-styling it all summer!

Weekly Wishlist

Welcome back y’all, happy Tuesday! I hope everyone had a fantastic holiday weekend! The Weekly Wishlist is a day late, you could say I took Memorial Day off too. I’ve been a little romper-crazed lately. As y’all know, I recently acquired a floral Yumi Kim and I also recently just bought a plain black little number from BCBG. The Hawaiian shirt inspired romper above is next on my list, though I should probably chill out because really, how many rompers does one need? Moving on, I love horn-y (lol) jewelry, it’s so easy to incorporate into any wardrobe, and the price is definitely right on this necklace. The navy dress is from Elaine Turner and it will be mine once I secure funding. It’s so simple and easy, I love dresses that you can just throw on and go. I’ve been truly obsessed with these Aquazzura lace-up flats for too long, but the price tag is a bit of a deterrent for someone who just works retail. These flats from Boden offer a similar look plus they’re a color ripe for summer. They’d pair quite nicely with the Rory Beca print dress that I’ve also been eyeing. As you can probably tell, anything bright and summer-y is right up my alley these days. I actually pulled the trigger and ordered these Lisi Lerch tassel earrings. They’re huge and ridiculous and I cannot wait until they arrive at my doorstep! They’ll be a great addition to any outfit, as turquoise is basically a neutral this time of year. Lastly, I’ve been on the hunt for a simple, black cross-body. All my years of life and I never found one that was to my liking until now. It’s only $198 so I’ll probably end up taking the plunge with this guy (cue the wedding bells). I love the envelope style, plus it’s actually quite roomy for a cross-body bag! What’s on your wishlist this week?

Product Review: Big Sexy Hair Full Bloom

Click to Shop!

While paging through the June issue of InStyle, I discovered my newest obsession: Big Sexy Hair Full Bloom. Along with several other products boasting longevity, it was tested by beauty editors and passed the test. It offers 72 hour volume, shine, and smells amazing. Apply to damp hair, from root to tip, and blow dry. After I first used it, I literally felt like I had just walked out of a Dry Bar. My hair was shiny, super soft, super voluminous, and honestly didn’t feel like there was any product in it. You know how mousse or other volume-boosters can leave your hair feeling sticky, heavy, or even “chunky?” Not an issue with Full Bloom. Also, if you’re like me and skip washing your hair for a day (or two), I found my hair was less greasy and had just as much body as the first day! You know what they say, the higher the hair, the closer to Heaven, so run out and pick up this little miracle!

Hi y’all! If you follow me on Instagram (which you should do here), you saw that I picked up these little beauties last week! I really stepped on of my comfort zone with these, as I’ve said before I’m more of a golden girl, but these sandals were an impulse buy I don’t regret! Silver goes with just as much as gold, and adds a modern appeal to your look. SIDENOTE: you can wear gold and silver together y’all. Life is just too short. Weekly Wishlist: Pink Slip

Click to Shop!

Happy Monday! This week’s edition of the #WeeklyWishlist is sort of themed around pink/blush-y tones, I guess. Basically, throughout each week, I write down/bookmark things I want and then put them together on Sundays. Sometimes a theme surfaces and I run with it, random or otherwise. Anyway, I was feelin’ a lot of pink stuff this time around. I’ve wanted this Jonathan Adler pillow for sometime, because pretty much anything with an “E” on it gets me going. Plus, in life, you can never have too many throw pillows. Don’t let anyone tell you any different. I know I’m super late to the party on this one, but I’ve also been wanting the Urban Decay Naked3 palette forever. With summer just around the corner, I’ve been gravitating towards natural, effortless makeup, and I think this would fit the bill. If any of y’all have it, I’d love to hear some reviews! Now, this giant inflatable flamingo might seem superfluous, but I think it’s the cutest thing. Since last summer, we’ve all seen the inflatable swans floating all over Instagram, but the flamingo takes the cake in my book. I don’t even have a pool, so I shouldn’t be allowed to want this as much as I do, but if you have a pool, this is a summer must have! Another must have, just for life, is a pair of Stuart Weitzman Nudist sandals. I’ve featured this shoe before in another pattern, but I keep coming back to this easy nude color. There’s literally nothing they wont go with. I’m definitely saving up for these beauties. As always, click to shop the items I mentioned, and everything else. I hope everyone had a great weekend, and thanks for stopping by!
