pajama game

In my book, Sundays are for lounging so that explains this adorable selection of PJs for your lounging pleasure. I focused on pretty, soft colors and light fabrics. I say it’s time to forgo the XL t-shirts and old flannel pajama pants. Who doesn’t want to look cute while getting their beauty sleep? I hope everyone has a relaxing day!

Welcome back and happy derby day! Also, happy Mifflin to my Madison readers. I’m suddenly obsessed with Yumi Kim rompers and ordered this one a few days ago (it’s also on sale!), but the one pictured is. a. steal. We’re talkin’ over 60% off y’all, go get it. The black Rebecca Minkoff bag, from the Outnet, is another great deal.  It’s a little more structured and businesslike, if you will, than the mini MAC clutch that everyone has. Sidenote: I too have the mini MAC and I’ve put it through absolute, literal Hell (all I can say is thank God for Lysol wipes…), and it still looks great.  All in all, Becky Minkoff is churning out some quality stuff. Moving on…if you can pull off a boyfriend jean, please get these. They’re Current/Elliott and are on sale for around $70, which you really can’t beat. They’d look great with the J. Crew Factory ikat camisole. Talbots is having their Friends and Family sale, where you can take 30% off your entire purchase! They have so many cute, classic things, including this coral leather bracelet. These corded statement earrings are a little different than the earrings I typically gravitate to, but the all-American colors got me, once again. They’re an extra 30% off along with all other sale items at J. Crew! Finally, how can you not love these Pierre Hardy high tops? I pretty much only wear loafers and ballet flats, but I might have to change my ways. I think they’re super fun and great for running around on the weekend! I hope everyone has the chance to do a little retail therapy! Meet ya back here tomorrow.

Today I’m being really realistic and featuring this $905 wool sweater! Perfect for heading into summer, no? Besides the fact that it’s wildly impractical, I’m obsessed with this Stella McCartney sweater. Right now, we’re seeing a lot of “novelty” designs – think Jeremy Scott at Moschino or Yazbukey – and I’m loving it. Fashion can be so serious, it’s nice to see some fun, almost sarcastic looks floating down the runways. Sometime next week I’m pulling my favorite novelty accessories, but I just had to share this today. It’s so cheeky and fun. When you think about it, for five huge rocks, $905 is actually a deal…

…or maybe not! Welcome back ya’ll, I hope everyone is having a great week!  Today, I’m talking beauty. I definitely don’t claim to be a make-up expert, but these are my favorite, go-to products.  I LOVE Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua foundation, which, if you have dry skin, you should run out and buy right this minute. It’s moisturizing, SPF 15, and leaves a dewy, natural finish (If you tend to have more oily skin, try Lumiere Velvet). I put it on with this amazing MAC brush, which is second only to literal airbrushing. Under my eyes, I use Chanel Eclat Lumiere Face Pen, which brightens up dark circles. For bronzer, I use the littlest bit of Chanel Les Beiges, I find it adds a subtle, sunkissed glow. I recently purchased the Smashbox Step-By-Step Contour Kit and I’m obsessed. Having fair skin, it’s really easy to look orange, but this palette is more beige, so the contour looks natural. It also comes with an angled brush which is a welcome bonus. As for eyes, Origins Eye Doctor is the best eye cream. It prevents wrinkles and de-puffs – can’t hate that!  This Chanel eyeliner is absolute perfection. It’s waterproof and truly stays on all day long. I use the color “ambre dore” which is a copper shade, ideal for my fellow blue-eyed girls. Try it on your lower waterline! On my lashes, I swear by Benefit’s They’re Real! After many trials and tribulations, this mascara is the closest thing you’ll find to false lashes. For brows, I love the Dior Powder Brow pencil. It’s very build-able, so I don’t have to worry about having Sharpie brows. Lastly, my all time favorite scent is Bvlgari Omnia Coral.  It has fruity and floral notes, but isn’t too heavy – perfect for everyday. Of course, I use a whole host of other lotions and potions, but these stand out from all the rest. I hope you have the chance to try some of these products!

Congrats Grads

Click to Shop!

As graduation quickly approaches for many, I decided to pull some easy dress options! Since you’ll be wearing the ever-flattering cap and gown, it’s best to keep your dress tailored/streamlined, so as not to add extra bulk. All of these dresses are sleeveless because, hello, May/June temps in an acrylic robe? I literally didn’t go to my August college graduation because I didn’t want to be hot. Guess I’m not really qualified to write this post, sorry guys. Regardless, this dress and this one are both good options if you want your arms covered! Keep in mind you’ll be taking lots of pictures, so pick a classic, simple dress that will photograph well. Congrats to all my soon-to-be-graduate readers! Welcome to postgrad life, it’s terrifying 🙂

Weekly Wishlist: Go Army

Click to Shop!

Hello! Happy Monday! Today’s Weekly Wishlist centers around the military/utilitarian trend we’re seeing right now. I love this trend because it is really classic and can blend in with so many different styles. Basic items you are bound to already have in your closet will play well with this look. Take those green Theory georgette pants and top them with a white button down and flats – you’re good to go!  Also, give the tan cargo dress a chance. I recently purchased it along with literally five of my coworkers, all different heights and body types, and it flatters everyone! It’s been on repeat for some time now and I won’t be stopping anytime soon. Hope ya’ll have a great day and that this little post provides some Monday entertainment!

Pastel Picks

I know pastels (like florals!) for spring aren’t exactly groundbreaking, but I’m really excited about them this go round. With all the neutral, blushy tones that are everywhere this season, pastels are just part of the natural progression. I like the ethereal, easy look that only the lightest tints of colors can bring. This is also true when it comes to cosmetics, so if you’re not quite ready to commit to a pastel wardrobe the Queen Mother (rest her soul) would approve of, try a new, pink-er blush or this lilac nail polish. This color trend is a great fit for everyone, as pastels compliment both dark and fair skin tones. Now we can all run around channeling Easter eggs all season long. I can’t wait to layer the sweater from yesterday’s post over this shirtdress with pale pink flats!

Another nautical Americana selection, what can I say, I like what I like. All of these little treats are on great sales right now, like see those earrings? They’re $10. The vintage Chanel cuff, however, is not as reasonably priced. I plan on buying the sweater a couple sizes up and pairing it with white jeans and loafers for an easy weekend look. Same goes for the Ciao Bella top. The Chloe shoes are a dream so one of you should buy them so I can live vicariously through your closet. The phone case is a given, because I just can’t seem to stay away from stripes. As for the shirtdress, one can never have too much white and navy! Have a great Saturday everyone! Happy shopping.

I hope everyone has a great Friday and an even better weekend!  I can’t thank ya’ll enough for following along on this little adventure. Meet me back here tomorrow for even more sale finds (#SaturdaySales), because as y’all are learning, I love a deal.
